Cognitive therapy is a powerful form of psychotherapy based on the belief that psychological problems are the products of faulty ways of thinking; it is a self-help technique that combats depression and other negative emotions by consciously changing the way we think.
The Therapy was developed by psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck in the 1960s.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy that believes talking and changing your behaviour can change how you think (cognitive) and what you do (behaviour) which can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties aind by addressing these you can change the way you feel This can make you feel better about life.
Cognitive behavior therapy is often used to treat people suffering from a wide range of disorders, including anxiety, phobias, depression, and addiction helping people with various conditions - both mental health conditions and physical conditions:-

  • Certain anxiety disorders, including phobias, panic attacks and panic disorder.
  • Some sleep problems.
  • Depression.
  • Addictions and drug or alcohol abuse
  • Eating disorders.
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Anger management
  • Low self-esteem
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder.
  • Chronic fatigue.
  • Chronic (persistent) pain.
